Atone Profile

atone is striving to create something interesting,
something a bit different.
Solid dance music with trippy teeth.

Forming sounds that are dubby, up tempo and a bit housey.
Wanting to push the limits of my artistic expression
- see how far it can go, not following anyone.
The controlled anarchist.

would like to leave a little quote ...
"the best way to get closure in a long-term relationship
is to get your ex-partner to punch you in the face ten times
with a look of hatred and disdain"
(but only if you're a man,
and you don't have to be any particular type of man,
you can be the anti-alpha male)

Atone Inspiration:

Everything is an inspiration in me environment.
Particularly Jamaican dub and some house.
i love Roots Manuva &
Tikiman (aka Paul St Hillaire).

also Missy Elliot,
that 'Crazy' guy - Gnarls Barkley, (i'm crazy)
country and western, George Gershwin, blues, top 20 ...

60's and 70's revolutiuon music :
Gill Scott Heron : 'i can't pay my healthcare bills,
but Whitey's on the moon'

Curtis Mayfield, Motown, Gary Numann,
Siouxe and the Banshees, Talking Heads, Sting ...

Lumukanda Profile

lumukanda began in the early 90's
when the backward beer culture needed to be destroyed.
Our mission was to get people from all walks of life together
listening to this music.
Its been a bit bewildering since '97 when we saw skinheads and punks
and yobbos appearing in the bush parties.
We were a part of that ride along with party organisers and promoters.
Now the morphic resonance* of that time is acheived.

We create electronic experimental dance music.
We're into constant manipulation of sound.
We have an international perspective,
but don't listen to what's around us and rip off others' ideas.
When you use all the instruments like different colours on a palette,
why do people copy the same picture ?

*if you don't get the concept of morphic resonance go hang out with buddhists,
cause when everyone's meditating world peace is acheived,
when everyone is on a matrix, online, thinking peace,
real peace will flow through the collective conscious.

Lumukanda Inspiration

Daniel came into it from a Todd Terry/american house perspective,
also into Art of Noise.
He's classically trained and learnt how to do all the right things musically.
He's now based in Finland and works for Pixar.

Dominic was more from a street level, cut'n'paste background,
using cheap stuff to f%k up sounds
and do what you're not supposed to do.
An accomplished DJ into hip hop beats he lives in Australia
and played the morning bracket for the first five years of Earthcore.

Wonderfeel Profile

wonderfeel is on a mission to create freaky tracks with a solid funk drive.
And you know once you've built something decent,
may as well let it play out for a while ...

Generally want all unique sounds, most of which are accoustically created
and sampled through a microphone.
That way unique textures and other trippy nuances are guaranteed.

Like to make stuff pretty solid, almost thuggish in its basicness.
Don't like tizzy with five million hihats,
and i'm moving away from erratic,
there seems to be enough of that that we humins have already created.

Lots of my tracks reach ablister point,
where after they have grooved along for a while,
things start to wear through and a blister forms where it gets a bit more discomfortable,
starts to wig out, then maybe it returns to the main flow
or maybe it just falls a part right there ...

Wonderfeel Inspiration

Wonderfeel is inspired by
Art of Noise, Laurie Anderson, George Clinton, Norman Whitfield,
Prince, African Headcharge, Arthur Baker, Yazoo, Eurythmics,
Monolake, Leftfield, Lumukanda,The Cure,
Timbaland
and plenny more ...

Favourite visual artist is James Gleeson
(its good to see someone who still cares about uniqueness, freakiness and quality.)

I do like Kraftwerk (from Autobahn through to Electro-Cardiogram)
but feel they have too much adherence, hence the whole sterile synth thing.
If this 'vibe' is pedestalized then our planet is stuffed.
We'll just be focussing on the technology as the one and only solution,
so let's just clear off into outer space !
Well news is that'd be s%t,
it wouldn't be an action packed 2hr sci-fi,
it'd be bloody tedious in lifeless surrounds for years and years.
Nature and fresh air are brilliant - don't forget that.

Respect all life forms.
And open to the organic and soulful,
whether its music, art, food,or other beings.
Peace.
